Jensten Underwriting announces multi-year capacity deal with Zurich to support our growth and future development
The five-year cornerstone placement provides over £300m of cross-class property, casualty and motor capacity. It represents a significant milestone for the evolution of Jensten Underwriting as a ‘virtual insurer’ and reinforces the strength of our underwriting capability, portfolio quality and long‑term ambitions.
The new arrangement provides enhanced scale, financial strength and long‑term stability as we continue to grow organically and inorganically, while maintaining continuity for brokers and clients.
The news follows the recent announcement that Jaime Swindle, the current CEO of Ardonagh owned Geo Underwriting, will join Jensten Group later this year as the CEO of Product and Distribution, the newly created division that Jensten Underwriting sits in.
Jamie Lewis, Managing Director of Jensten Underwriting, added “Launching this cornerstone cross-class placement is a key milestone in our evolution as a virtual insurer. We’re delighted to have secured this scalable, long-term commitment from Zurich, one of the worlds most trusted brands. For brokers and clients, this move provides even greater stability and security behind our products.”
David Nichols, Head of Retail at Zurich UK, commented:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Jensten Underwriting on this multi-year capacity arrangement. In recent years, we have built a strong and trusted relationship with the team allowing us to accelerate our growth together. Jensten have developed a disciplined underwriting business with a clear focus on delivering for brokers and customers, aligning closely with our own commitment to supporting brokers and clients for the long term. Bringing together Jensten’s underwriting expertise with Zurich’s scale and long-term commitment, we’re confident this partnership will create a strong and sustainable platform for growth.”
Robert Organ, Group CEO at Jensten, said, “This partnership with Zurich is a strong endorsement of the quality and credibility of Jensten Underwriting. Aligning with a global insurer of Zurich’s standing strengthens our platform for sustainable growth and demonstrates the confidence the market has in our underwriting capabilities, our people, our governance, and, equally relevant, our ambition.”
