Five common misunderstandings about our wheel’s products

Think you’ve seen it all on Wheels? We’ve pulled together five common misconceptions about CV, Fleet and Truck products to help you sense‑check what you know before diving into the detail.

  1. “There’s a limit on how many adjustments we can make.”

In practice, standard adjustments can be made as often as required. Businesses evolve throughout the year, and our policies are designed to adapt with them. The only defined restriction applies to Temporary Additional Vehicles, which are permitted up to 4 per period.

  1. “Vehicle and driver numbers are tightly capped.”

Our Wheels products offer more flexibility than many expect. Policies can include up to 20 vehicles, with larger fleets placed via Jensten London Markets (JLM). For CV and Truck, up to four named drivers can be included, and any‑driver options are available for drivers over 25 or over 30 on all products.

  1. “Certain sectors are always excluded.”

While we maintain clear boundaries around hazardous locations such as airside, trackside and quarries, many areas remain well within appetite. Electric trucks, for example, can be covered subject to vehicle value. Furniture removers may also be considered, but will need to be referred to an underwriter. We can accept director NCD transfers where a valid letter is provided. Taxi fleets, however, remain with JLM.

  1. “New ventures can’t be supported.”

We do not write fleets with no experience and no bonus or CCE. However, our Truck product can accommodate 0 years bonus, offering a route for certain new ventures where the risk profile is appropriate.

  1. “Turnaround times vary depending on the case.”

We aim to provide consistent, predictable service. For example, our Truck referrals are reviewed immediately by phone and within four hours by email. Commission is set at 10% across all relevant products, keeping commercial terms simple and transparent.

These five points reflect some of the most frequent assumptions we see across Commercial Vehicle, Motor, and Fleet, and the realities behind them.
